Real Life Metroid Found Off The Coast Of Monterey | Heteroclitus

Approximately 10 feet in diameter and deep red in color, Tiburonia Granrojo is actually a jellyfish.  Found throughout the Pacific Ocean, only 23 of the invertebrates have been seen in the wild and just a single specimen has been captured for study.

The Metroid was actually discovered by MBARI (Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute), and the lead marine biologist on the crew was Dr. George I. Matsumoto, Ph.D.
